RX‘s speech therapists (also known as speech-language pathologists) are dedicated to helping clients with speech, language and swallowing disorders. Our speech therapist evaluates speech pattern and swallowing abilities of the patient. The therapist will work with your physician to develop a therapy plan that will improve speech function to the highest level possible. The services of a speech therapist can include:
- Dysphagia – therapy to improve swallowing
- Dysarthria – therapy to improve slurred speech
- Aphasia – therapy to improve post-stroke language skills
- Cognitive disorders – therapy to improve post-brain injury cognitive skills
This service is considered a “stand alone” service under the Medicare Home Health Services benefit. However, patients must meet the requirements for in-home speech therapy. For more information, please call Drake Torrado with RX Home Health Services, Inc. at 305-865-2244.
